The Enzyme Scrub was inspired by ExfoliKate, one of my favorite scrubs ever. If you haven’t tried it, I seriously recommend it- after you try ours of course! Basically, I loved this scrub so much that I had to launch it before we launched anything else more important in a daily routine (that’s a hint for the next product we’re launching).

Anyway, if you don’t already know by now, I deal with textured skin. I used to have it so much worse, but (shameless plug) thanks to the Gold Tides Toner, it has cleared up a lot. But, it wasn’t 100% gone, which is why I loved using ExfoliKate to smooth out my skin. Also, I’m sure you’ve heard so many amazing things about fading scars/dark marks with a scrub as well!

Lemon powder is naturally high in Vitamin C, so it’s bound to brighten and smooth out your skin. It also has some great properties to help regulate your skin’s oil production, which will help with those small bumps as well.

Frankincense powder is one that I’ve had my eye on for a while. Frankincense has very high astringent properties which makes it great for acne and blemish prone skin! This is one that can help out with any active spots you have going on + power up on those small bumps.

Pumpkin powder was an ingredient I was so excited about because ~ enzymes ~. Pumpkin is so so high in enzymes which makes it a great natural exfoliant. Not a physical exfoliant, but one that exfoliates your skin from below the surface by breaking down dead skin.

Those are my favorite ingredients in this scrub, but honestly, it doesn’t stop there. I knew, of course, that we would have to find natural exfoliants that would make this scrub gentle enough to use every day and still do the job. We tried out tons of different things, but we landed on walnut shell powder and jojoba seed powder as our 100% natural exfoliants. This was a really cool thing to me because lately you hear so much about how terrible exfoliants and scrubs are for the environment! Like hundreds of thousands of tiny wax beads end up in the ocean and lakes and everywhere else, so I think it’s super cool that we can find natural ingredients like walnut shell powder and jojoba seed powder to do the exfoliating for us.
