Glycolic Acid is a chemical exfoliant that breaks up pore clogs on the surface.
A clogged pore is the earliest indication of a pimple forming. Most clogs begin within the pore where BHAs like Salicylic Acid prove to be the most effective. However, dead skin cells, dirt, or other external elements can clog the pores at the surface level as well. As this clog forms, the skin's natural secretion of oil is inhibited causing the pores to build up with oil. This can lead to texture, papules, pustules or even cysts if the oil cannot escape from the pore to the skin's surface.
